Didn’t particularly feel like running today. It was raining, temps in the 50s, and my right foot has been giving me trouble. My suspicion is that the problem is Plantar fasciitis, and so after doing some reading on the Runner’s World Injury message board I decided to buy these inserts;. They came today, and so even with the blah weather I decided I’d run since I was looking forward to trying them out.

I’ve been doing this Hal Higdon 8k plan looking ahead to the Columbus Turkey Trot, so today was a 45 min tempo run. Headed out to Scioto Audubon Metro Park, and was mostly feeling cold and wet, but when I emerged from the trail near the new Main Street bridge I saw … the gorgeous rainbow above. Possibly the most beautiful rainbow I’ve ever seen in my life. Took my breath away, immediately put a smile on my face, and reminded me just how lucky I am to be alive. Very glad I laced up my shoes and headed out today, despite the rain.

And the inserts seem to be great as well! Least amount of pain my right foot has had after a run in weeks.
